The SAIA Summer 2006 Safety Conference was held at sunny Gulf Shores, Alabama.  The days before and after the conference was filled with golf, fishing and beach activities.  Several speakers gave their definition of safety and how to train employees to work safe.  During the meeting Mike Bergeaux of Louisiana Statewide was in control, because of a un-expected vacancy in the vice-chairperson position, Clarence Greene of Kentucky was appointed as vice chairperson.  Clarence Greene was ask to announce Eddie Black of South Ky RECC as the 2006 Ray Pantel Award Winner, the formal award will be done at the 2006 NUTSEA Conference at Oklahoma City in September.
