Purpose of Ray Pantel Award
The purpose of this award is to recgonize the SAIA Member who demonstrates the quality of dedication of leadership, cooperation and service that were exemplified by one of the SAIA founding farthers, Ray Pantel

The Ray Pantel Meritorious Service award is given in memory of the late Ray Pantel, who performed his duties for the electric cooperative Loss Control Program of Texas for 24 years.  He earned the respect of electric cooperatives throughout Texas as well as the United States as a safety instructor, training specialist, and later as the general coordinator of the Loss Control Program.  He was instrumental in the  development of a safety certification program and continually fought for the development and continuation of the loss control programs.
